Novice Teams are our lowest tier of competitive cheerleading with the least amount travel and time commitment required. Evaluations for our Novice Teams for the 2026-2027 season will be on Friday, August 7th with team practices beginning the beginning of September.
Teams are formed based on athlete age, skills, ability level, ad maturity as well as experience. At TNT Cheer we accept athletes ages 3-18 and of ALL skill level and ability!
Novice teams will practice once a week for either an hour or an hour and a half depending on the team beginning in September and going through May 2nd. These teams will do 2 competitions in Des Moines or Coralville typically beginning in January/February. For more information on the All Star Novice Program click the link below to view the handbook.
